Subject: What the elevator makes

Virginia
I'm wondering if anybody knows what the markup on grain is. My neighbor and I were having this discussion the other day and I can't find anything online about this. It must be a pretty dirty secret.
If you sell beans right now on a cash price it's $9.04 as I write this. Then they **** you on basis, dockage etc. In my area basis is $.40 so the $9.04 price minus basis is $8.64. Assuming no dockage I would get paid $8.64 minus the check off fee. Now they put them on a ship and send them to China, what do they make? I know it's more than the $8.64 they paid me but how much. My neighbor figures they are doubling there money. Something is going on because there is no info online I can find. Plenty on what we get, but not what they get. Mighty suspicious if it's such a "free" market.
