SC MN | Looking to buy a few beef cows to have around as a little hobby and to graze on our cover crops. Found lots of cows for sale, mostly similar qualities (breed, age, bred/open, etc) but the main difference is price, sometimes as much as $400/head difference.
My question is- is it worth it to buy these "cheaper" cows? The guys that are selling them say they are downsizing because of hay shortages so it sounds like that's the reason but I don't know what to believe.
