Just as a hobby? I've never heard of anybody selling off their best stuff first and keeping the poor at home due to drought or loss of land leases. If you just want to graze stalks, maybe lease it instead of all the headaches to come with "hobby" cows, unless of course you are already set up for it, i.e. corrals, fences, water and so on.
Just my thoughts.
Forgot to add, when they tell you they are bred to "black angus", don't be one bit surprised when they come out white, gray or blonde. Or never calve.
What about if the cows are bred to 'red' angus?
Buy cheaper cows or not?
