| My better half had some surgery and is laid up. I get to do all the things she always did. Not a huge deal but it does make you appreciate her more for sure!
One thing I was looking forward to was being able to buy and eat what I wanted, not what she wanted. Boy was I surprised, I still have to buy and cook what she wants!
Ok so here is the deal. She bought and served mostly prepared dishes. One thing that griped me was potatoes. $7.00 for potatoes for supper! Now if she is doing it I just figure be quiet. It makes it easier for her.
So last night I go to fix the potatoes. It turns out I could have just bought the$ .99, 5 lb bag. cleaned them pealed them and mashed them. It would have been faster than those $7.00 ones! All that pre cooked stuff is that way it seems. plus it costs just as much as eating out!
So far we are running around $200 a week for food in the house. Just food, no paper products, pop, toiletries, or soap in that. I eat at home once a day and so does her boy. So basically 35 meals a week. No wonder folks have money trouble!
What makes it worse is the food is low quality, poor taste in most. Very little meat.
