This current generation doesn’t know how to cook a dang thing.
Even “homemade” isn’t “homemade” any more, it’s half made.
Anytime I get a magazine with a recipe in it and it involves short cuts like pillsbury biscuits or frozen vegetables it’s not hard to figure out whoever sent that recipe in was under 40.
If you can read directions you can cook.
That's just not true. We grow and freeze a lot of our own vegetables and we can eat veggies that taste as near to fresh as we can find and use them in a lot of recipes.
Then again my wife makes everything from scratch and you wouldn't believe how many youngsters shudder at the sound of her saying use XXX cups of lard for your pie crust. |
