Frytown, Iowa | Was talking with some older farmers the other day and was saying how having a larger organic farm on flat black dirt with RTK would really be the cats meow and how you could just hop on the tractor and cultivate all night with RTK.
Then one said you can't cultivate at night because the sun won't dry out the roots and the dew helps the weed roots reroot. Another farmer confirmed this, said his dad always said don't cultivate much past 7pm or it won't be as effective.
I found this interesting. I would say most farmers my age because of notill and herbicides, don't know the common sense that was common in older practices.
