Iowa | With many claims that bear some truth, there are often many exceptions. For most organic producers, the weeds we are trying to cultivate out initially are less than an inch tall. I have yet to see weeds at that height and are buried by a cultivator ever regrow -- regardless if cultivation happened during the day or night.
Having said that, we all have seen the 6"+ cockle-bur that gets partially covered or laid on wet dirt regrow. But again, that's altogether a different situation. Agreeing with Paul, sometimes weather does not allow everything to be done during the day. Although not ideal, cultivating at night can be extremely effective if rain hits by morning and one-weeds are 5" before you get back at them...!
So, one hand I agree with them. But I'd guess they'd also agree that there are times we must operate when the ideal is not permitted.
