I think around here, wells are for family/farm use. Not much irrigation, wells here.

So, in my case , my area, wells differ from spot to spot. Most are happy to have a well to supply household.

My well is shallow, next door neighbors have drilled wells ,about 100-150' drilled wells. They have sulfer water, yuk.

Town, 8 miles away has a city well drilled 2000'

Growing up, I thought you just dug a well. Guess there is more to it.
