southern MN | Check closely, around here one typically has to seal up all wells once the water district goes in, use 'city' water only. Some areas no water can be found, but anywhere else water districts are fought tooth & nail as being _way_ to expensive vs owning your own. Of course owning your own has much more up-front costs, but over 20 years, the district will bleed you out. I couldn't imagine paying the water bill on a livestock operation, from what I hear of water districts.....
That is 'here'. And might not apply to you at all.
