One things for sure. The longer you horse around, the less likely you're going to get this resolved in your favor. Get both the custom guy and the elevator served, take them to small claims and get a judgement against them. Pretty darn sure that'll get it resolved. Only reason not to is if there's some part of this spiel you're not letting us in on.
