Subject: RE: wheel tile trencher vs tile plow

Farmland, IN
I have run a Speicher 7060 for about 7 years now, and just recently added a Liebrecht tile plow to the operation. You won't want to run the plow if you're not doing tiling systematically, just can't tell what you've cut like with the wheel. If you are doing a system though, the plow is probably 3 to 4 times faster. I pulled mine with a 9200 deere with wheel weights and 2000 lbs. hanging up front. This allowed me to pull the plow a little over 4 ft. deep before spinout, and horsepower was not a problem. If I had to go deeper, I just used the wheel.
I really like the Liebrecht plow, those guys know how to build them, since they do a lot of custom tiling with their own product.
