| One solution I've devised for folks that works wonderfully with no market risk is to take half the money and put it in a very conservative vehicle such as a 10 year payout immediate annuity. It's all paid out in that timeframe, and almost completely tax free. The other half purchase a deffered annuity to age 80. Could receive a guaranteed lifetime income of around ten percent at that time, and could never outlive your money. All with zero market risk and again, a high percentage of the income would be tax free. Edit to add; A huge advantage to this strategy is the fact you no longer have to worry about making your money last for as long as you live, and trying to invest it accordingly.
