Subject: RE: Farm strike 1978

I remember AAM well , back then there was a White tractor company and they donated a tractor with cab of course, and seems like it came from Kansas . When it arrived in DC it had like 3000+ miles on it. Pretty exciting week up there. Nothing changed but got a whole lot of promises. Will say all politicians were extremely polite and friendly. A lot did change locally. We did get farmers on ASCS committees and broke that Farm Bureau board members up and finally got farmers back in control. So wasn’t a total loss. I hope to never go through that time again for I saw a lot of good farmers go bankrupt for nothing more than low prices
