S.C. Wisconsin | Production agriculture did very well from about the middle 60's to about 1978-79. The inflation of the 70's helped a lot of farmers retire debt, but it also lead to overpriced land etc. It wasn't pretty in the early 80's. I graduated from high school in 1966 and worked on our farm, then in 1981 I started to buy buy the farm plus another one. It was interesting times. Not easy. We milked cows back then so I didn't have any time to ride our tractor to Washington DC ! | |
