Subject: RE: Farm strike 1978

Hale Center, Texas

The American Agriculture Movement (AAM) was pretty strong out here in the Texas Panhandle.  I remember a man named Gerald McCathern (SIC) from Hereford, TX was very involved.   A few years ago I saw a tractor in the Smithsonian from the AAM.  I know it was an International.   Can't remember whether it was a 1086 or a 1486.

I think their demand was 100% of parity.  Speaking of lay out land or set aside acres, I doubt many are familiar with the concept of parity.  I had to be taught by my Dad.  I didn't know either.
