While what you say is true, it kind of falls apart when looking past the surface .

Price is inconsiderate of both the producers cost of production, and the users ability to add value.

I've paid $6/bu for corn and was able to add value to it, but also bought $2.50 corn and got my a$$ handed to me.

Crop producers have similar stories...Fertilizer @ $700/ton.. best year ever, but later $350/ton doesn't even come close to working.
