NW Indiana | Jon as much as I appreciate you always trying to look at things from a bullish lens, sometimes you have to look at all the facts. Most of brazil's soybeans are grown during the first season, the safrina is much more about corn which you referenced with the 18mmt reduction from early estimates. I'm not going to do a bunch of research and paste but if memory serves me correct the second crop soybeans yield about 60% of the first crop. With that said it isn't very economical for them to plant them so they try corn if mother nature allows. Notice with the drought you are referencing the soybean crop didn't drop off much? With the major reduction in yields the acres just don't get planted. If my memory serves me correct I remember seeing mato grosso's safrina crop is only about 5% of the hectares vs the first crop. | |
