I think most relate February to our August because it is 6 months apart. Most of brazil starts planting much earlier in relation to what we do in the heart of the cornbelt. Considering some harvest has began over the last few weeks I would say that is a good indication of what I am talking about. I would say in general January is probably closer to our August.
Edit: to give you a better idea mato grosso do sul has a longitude of 20.77 S where the corn belt is closer to 38-44 N. Another reference would be Miami florida at 25 N
