Read the article posted by John Burns in market talk. Banks are currently desperate to extend more loans; to the point of charging almost no interest. This is not the "natural" condition. Doing the natural opposite, i.e. not borrowing and/or paying down debt is probably an excellent strategy in this type of environment.
Tell that to my banker who upped my operating loan to 5% last year
