I often wondered if the TR series was better.
The reason we went with the 1500 was that dad had bought a 975 new in 1970 and we were thinking of a corn head but knew that 975 was far too light in the back end to handle a six row corn head. Also it was a gas and we were wanting to get into more diesel engines. Plus the NH dealer probably gave the best trade at the time. To think we considered an MF 550 at the time. List price somewhere around $50k. THAT would have been a big mistake.
