That is very much going to be the issue. When we've had drought stressed corn in June or July, it seems to take a lot of pep out of the plant. When and if you get rain, it's almost like the plant is more worried about trying to stay alive instead of just filling the ear. In 2005 we had a wet June and dry July. Kernal counts were 150 ish, ended up with 100 bushel corn. In 2006 we had a dry June and rain the middle of July, corn looked nice but cobs were small. Made 80 bushel corn. Will be interesting once you can see the ears start to take shape and what they will keep or abort.
