If yield is all pretty much kernel size than August matters alot on corn yield. It might be a little early to say the monster of all crops is in the bin but in 3 weeks or so I would be more confident what I have. In 05 I had some 20 around 34 long with 32000 stand only yield 135 so I agree to an extent but if you have 14 around and 24 long I don't think you can get big enough kernels to compensate completely either.
