South East South Dakota/winters Tucson, AZ | After my mother's 2nd car accident , the family all knew she had dementia. But no one would say anything to her. So I took car away and her recovery from car accident was at a respite care facility and never allowed her back home. It was the hardest thing I have every done. That was 2 years ago and she went from mild dementia to somewhere between moderate to severe. She now is an angry dementia person and everything sets her off, throws things, pouts like little kid and says really bad things. My sisters fought me, but they now say it was the best thing for her. Plus they both live 4 hours away and I lived 4 miles away.
I hope you have a POA in place. It makes things easier , but not completely.
Also find someone else going through the same thing, lucky for me my next door neighbor is going thru the same thing with his mother. And if there is an Alzheimer's group near by join a support group. They have been a huge help also
Good luck in this tough disease . It hurst to see a loved go thru this.
