Ditto what Weedman says. We installed a 19K gallon NH3 tank 5 yrs ago. There was no increase on our insurance then. We work closely w/our agent...no secrets or deceptions. We own only 3 wagons, and sometimes can keep up with using but 2 of them. Our fill pump can fill the wagon much faster than you can run it out. If we have to pull them a long ways, then the 3rd tank comes into use. Yes, you have to have state inspection (in IL anyway....I have no idea on other states), but it's not the end of the world. I'd say it's much easier than our DOT inspections for trucks. Hoses have expiration dates that you have to observe. The "gas mask" for the emergency kit has expiration dates. Otherwise, keep it clean & safe looking & you're good to go. I do not claim the on-farm tank is for everyone, but ours has worked just fine. |
