southern MN | A storage tank and the transfer system is going to be spendy to own for the few days you would use it. Comes under a lot of regulation and rules. Transferring from a semi to the bulk tank has a lot of regulations you need to be set up right.
Where nh3 is common the coop owns that equipment, and delivers filled tanks to the fields you want it. They can use the equipment all fall, and all spring spreading those big costs out over 10s of thousands of acres and different times of the different farmers.
I'm not sure it would be worth owning all that equipment yourself? But that's what you are looking into, and sure makes sense to explore your options.
What you need is a big Lp type of tank (different fittings, but exactly same type of pressures and steel pressure vessel) that can hold over a semi load of material, the hose and connectors and a water tub for safety equipment to transfer in and out. Safety equipment to deal with a leak, and security to deal with meth heads.
