Central Alberta | Deflation makes ground go down. In Japan, despite printing horrendous amount of yen and zero (now negative) interest rates, real estate is still falling. Most people only have experienced inflation during the last 40 yrs. Only the mid 80 s gave a taste of deflation. I am looking to add value to my own farm in order to play defense on its future value. Another factor that will depreciate ground is declining natural fertility. Kind of sucks that I will probably farm for 30 more years because nothing else to do and be poorer then than I am now as ground will likely go down. Your experience may vary. | |
