Anderson County Kansas | Yes there isn't hardly any irrigation. There is a little bit out of watershed lakes, but its not a drop in the bucket. We don't have any groundwater. You are right, as you get closer to the city ground gets a lot higher. There is an auction coming up March 9, they are selling some very good (for our area) tillable land. My guess is it will bring around 2500 an acre. Some sold just south of me about a month ago, it was 2 quarters of all tillable good ground. The corn made 175 last year, which was probably as close to as good as the farm ever raised. It brought 2440 an acre, plus a 5 percent buyers premium on top of that. | |
