SW KS, near Dodge City | Just why does everybody think that big oil has unlimited resources to put into these things? If they're not working for the current owners, big oil probably doesn't have magic efficiency bullet.
I'd bet that existing ethanol companies will be more likely to buy under-capitalized plants that need upgrades that the current ownership couldn't afford than "big oil". Now, private equity that owns a lot of everything might be a different story. Heck, private equity will probably start swallowing up a lot of the oil business pretty soon. The oil guys are in the same dogfight for survival that ag is right now. | |
