East central Iowa, Camanche, Iowa
My personal opinion is that farmers and those who run most of the promotional organizations do not understand marketing to the uneducated masses. For too many years agriculture has enjoyed the luxury of having those in power having a farm background. This is no longer the case as the majority of the populace and those in power have no connection to the farm. Playing the "help the poor farmer" or "save the family farm" song is now a golden oldie and has no relevance to the majority who only know that milk comes from the grocery store.
Farm organizations need to start taking the offensive and reach out to the uneducated masses about the value of agricultural products and quit spending checkoff dollars advertising to farmers.

It's war guys and if we don't get off our dead ass soon we will all be working for the collective and Bernie Sanders.
