TOOOOT TOOOOOOOT --------yep I heard your horn blowing. Your personal achievements really have nothing to do with the OPs dilemma. word recognition and then sounding out the more difficult words is in essence what phonics is --------it can be done in song it can be done in several methods. But initially with a struggling child he needs his self esteem built up with repetitive actions.
