Central IL | Was moving some Harvestore silos for an older gentlemen near Monmouth, IL back in the mid 80's when a drought cause the price of corn to nearly double. Old boy had 3 years of stored corn in the bins and unloaded it all. Looked pretty smart at the time. Holding paper sounds good, but the reality is that the disconnect between local cash and the cbot adds another random variable to already complex marketing decisions. | |
