Mid-Michigan | We apply a little N with p and k in the fall during planting. We have done some no-tilling into soy stubble but that isn't working for us very well so we are going back to hitting it with a field cultivator. We usually will put around 300 pds of npk blend in the fall. Ams is is a good choice because wheat likes sulfur. Usually on frozen ground (March) we will throw a blend of ams, esn and urea (about 150). When weeds start to show Ill spray with Husky, 5 gal of 28 and Stratego and some more sulphur. Then Ill put the rest of N on with streamers. At heading, Ill spray again with Prosaro.
We shoot for 90-100 bu. wheat. Have had two sub-par years in a row. We grow white wheat. Its not easy and its not cheap. | |
