Subject: RE: Next level Winter Wheat

I like 10-34-0 in the trench too. 6-8 gallons here. The topdress tracks are going to yield half what the stuff that didn't get run over anyhow so I've been running the same tracks putting on tebuconazole or quilt between flag leaf and flowering. Boosted test weight by 2-4 pounds in this cloudy wet year. I always seem to be saying "next year I'll do better" too. There's always something with wheat it seems. This year there was 8 days of sunshine while it was filling out. Last year was too cold from mid feb thru March then too dry in April/may. Year before, too hot and dry in April.

Don't get me wrong, I know my best wheat wouldn't have made 60+ this year without the 10-34-0, seed treatment, weed and insect control, and fungicide, but sheesh it's a lot of $$$. I was hoping for 80-100 bpa with it. 8 sunny days :( 20 and it would've made 80-100 I bet, BUT with wheat, there's always SOMETHING.
