well, I get your point kinda, but that's just the way it is. I have enough equipment to easily do full tillage on all acres farmed but still do a lot of no-till. Whatever looks like the best fit depending on field conditions is what dictates. Maybe the spray people can't get there quick enough, no problem, we'll work some acres until they do. You could argue that big equipment is just as guilty for making farmers bigger as the increased efficiencies from chemicals, kind of an endless circle. Most on here, and rightly so, argue that no-till over time will build soil quality, therefore the means justify the end. Are you also opposed to chemical fertilizer?
Nope, not opposed to chemical fertilizer and never said I was against no-till. I do think the reliance on chemicals has gotten out of hand though. I also know way and way more people are getting cancer than ever before. |
