99MAX, the 1913 Act striped control from the "money trusts" and was opposed by them, as you stated.  What you have to keep in mind is that what is presented in this thread by Burns, McDonald, etc. is a marginalized conspiratorial viewpoint which denies that history, or anything else you might have learned in that Econ course.
