Seinfield is definitely outside my area of interest. If you want to read about economics and economists in France in that period, here is a good start. Fiat Money Inflation in France. Originally written in 1896, it is about the economy of the time that most history books might only gloss over or touch on lightly. It is a free PDF download. I doubt you read it (but I hope you do), but do so only if you wish to learn things that might not fit your pre-conceived notions. Few history books or textbooks cover monetary history. It is doubtful you covered it in college or any structured education program. Some knowledge we have to seek out on our own. John
