SW of Enid OK | I would be hesitant about corn in your area too. Enid typically gets more rain than me and I more than you. Last year, I received a little over 20". Timing is everything. I would talk with someone in your area that has been successful doing NT and pick their brain. My beans in that last few years, full season and DC together, have only averaged about 7 bpa, so I haven't figured them out yet. Looks on beans can be deceiving. Most of my stuff is just N of 51 on 132 and up towards Drummond. My neighbor had some beans across the river towards you this year and he didn't cut them either. Milo is a good dry weather crop. Some of my best Canola when I still planted it, was on sandy flat ground. Doesn't leave much residue though. | |
