In Paraguay they say "cattle on 1 side of the fence, crops on the other". I agree. One of the reasons the soils in our area here are so depleted was the constant pulverization of the OM by plow and hoof. Now I'm not anti livestock, it's just that we need to use our heads a little. Sow you marginal ground back to grass and become what I call the ultimate notiller. Different grasses using water at different times of the growing season mixed with native legumes supplying nitrogen coupled with 4 legged auto-pilot harvesters. What could be better? Dirt
