Paid off or cash in the bank to pay it off equals the same net worth when it comes to buy the new farm
If you are sitting on a wad of cash where the bank sees that you can make your current payment and a new one for a couple years you are golden. Light on cash not so golden
Liquid Equity is really important. I have learned those lessons the hard way.
