Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

You both have off-farm jobs.

Do they provide 401K and matching contributions? (Are you taking full advantage of those?)

Hopefully, you each are saving roughly 10%, at this young age. (Total for 401K and any Roth IRA stuff) Time is on your side.

 

 {If you both are maxing out, 401K and Roth contribution, then good for you} Note: I was able to do this, for the last decade, of my "city job"; and boy, does that make a difference, when the years go by.

 

I don't need any details, from you; I just wanted to point out some other places, you and your wife might diversify your money, a little. (It is nice to have a "back-up retirement plan", in place)
