All the 2nd ear talk,,,,, 9 times of the 10 there's nothing on that 2nd ear come harvest. But what it does tell me is that is one VERY HEALTHLY corn plant and even if its get dry towards black layer you have ALOT of plant mass and stored energy to fill that main ear right to the tippy tip and add to kernel weight.

Think back to 2012 in some of the better area's,,,guys were really worried about yields but once they got in the combine they were grinning from "ear to ear" oophs that's 2 ears Ha Ha ! ! ! ! !
