Interesting, if I had to "guess" a higher yield, I would have picked the first picture. I wonder if a lot of fellows aren't seeing things that way this year. An old neighbor used to say Fairbanks and Morse was the only way to determine yield and I think that still rings true today, to a great extent. Not saying there aren't areas with great corn but estimating yields right after pollination is at best a stab in the dark.
