But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions
Vain repetitions means empty repetitions. If there is a genuine need, then it is not an empty request. And also Jesus said to "pray in this way" not "pray this prayer". He was giving a pattern, an outline if you will of the things we could possibly pray for. And if we are still confused, no worries, the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf.
Romans 8:26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;
That is IF we are walking a life filled/led with the spirit, not indulging the flesh. (all the context of that passage to be considered) |
