South Georgia | I believe the point of these verses is that we aren't to just repeat words. Whatever the words are, even the Lord's Prayer, if we just repeat words, it's not genuine prayer. Prayer is communicating with the God of the whole of creation, and not just some silly habit that some of us have. If it is genuine communication directed to God, then you're getting the point.
I like to pray to God to thank Him for the things He's given me and taught me, and also for the things He has for me in the future. Thank Him and praise Him for who He is. Tell Him your needs. Yes, of course He already knows them, but He desires you to trust Him for them, and not trust in yourself.
