Subject: Block heater and running engine

C KS
I've always wanted opinions on this scenario: It's the cold of winter and you are loading out grain with a tractor running an auger. You have an engine heater on the tractor, so that it starts nice and is easier on the tractor. When you run the tractor to fill the truck, do you unplug the engine heater? This is just an example of a semi-stationary piece of equipment, intermittently used, but always plugged in. It in no way has anything to do with what the tractor or engine does except set still.

Give me reasoning for both in block heaters and the in-line heater hose tank heaters, if you think that they must be unplugged.

Thanks for replies in advance!
