Just keep track of how many years you run with it plugged in and tractor running

when it burns out, then keep track of how many years it works unplugged

I try hard to unplug "here"

A inline switch, by the tractor key switch will make it easy to turn off and on

I would put a oil pan heater on it and not worry about the water

The oil is what is never getting warm

I think you are keeping the wrong end of the horse warm
