Faunsdale, AL | Went to pick up a tender of seed myself today and found that the seed lot we're planting is "Oakes" and 14,500 per pound. So a bushel per acre of that after accounting for germination loss would be 16 or so per square foot. The website from Australia mentions at the bottom to shoot for 150-200 plants per square meter or 13.6 to 18 per square foot if trying for 8 tonne/hectare. They seem to be discouraging higher planted populations because of concern about disease pressure or lodging.
