Near-north Ontario, French River
How many acres does it take to become a difficult task? Granted we are relatively small scale but we can sidedress all our corn in 4-5 days, using the co-ops 11 leg Blu-jet. We have a lot of small 10-20 ac fields , sometimes spend more time turning on headlands or roading ,but can easily cover 150acres a day. I've seen a lot of pics here at NAT of much larger machines being used by much larger corn growers , 400-500acres a day should be more than doable for the big boys so unless a guy is growing 10k acres of corn if there is a will to get it done there is a way. I often hear guys say they are worried about it turning wet and not being able to get it done, well last year was the wettest year on record around here and we still had no issues getting it done.
