OR Their soils are different than the soils where the study was conducted.

HERE ammonium applied to this high 40-50 CEC clay soil is essentially a slow release fertilizer.

Unlike in East Texas where any kind of nitrogen fertilizer can be expected to be gone in 6 weeks, regardless of the amount.
