northeastern Ohio | I do not have good news for you. There are some malware programs that pretend to infect your computer with virus's. They pop up messages that tell you that you are infected. Then they offer to "clean" your system for xxx dollars. Once you pay for and install this "program", everything seems fine for a while. In a few days or weeks, you will get "infected" again and have to pay for a new solution. The "system toolbar" is the malware.
I have never heard of century link online security. There are several good free anti-virus programs out there that may help get rid of the malware. SuperAntiSpyware and MalWareBytes are a couple. Please download them from a safe site like http://download.cnet.com/windows/
